Italian high fashion brand Gucci typically follows trends very quickly, but they have produced just one item since 1953: the Gucci horse bit loafer model 1953. Many people may wonder: are Gucci loafers worth it?
People are attracted to Gucci Brixton loafers for many different reasons. Some people prefer the minimalistic, traditional style, while others prefer the design’s novelty.
Without further ado, I will discuss what I like and what to look out for about these opulent Gucci loafers in this post.
History of Gucci
First, let’s talk about the history of Gucci. A man named Guccio Gucci founded the company Gucci in Florence in 1920. They began as a maker of expensive leather goods, such as saddlery.
Gucci became very well-known and the focus shifted by the 1950s and 1960s when Hollywood stars started wearing it. Now, it was less about horse riding attire and more about shoes and consumer goods.
Due to a leather shortage during World War II, the canvas GG with red and green detailing emerged, but it quickly became recognized as the trademark of Gucci. Almost ruining the company in the 1980s, the Gucci family sold the company in 1988.
By 1990, the brand had regained its prior notoriety thanks to the hiring of Tom Ford as creative director. He naturally developed his own brand because he was very fashionable himself.

Gucci Loafer Pros and Cons
Here are the pros and cons pf Gucci loafer.
Pros:
1. Not a Flashy Shoe
This original version of the iconic shoe is available. It lacks large, obvious logos on the outside of the shoe, unlike many other Gucci or designer products, which in my opinion is a huge plus.
2. Comfortable, Classic and Timeless Shoe
It is a cozy shoe with a traditional last that has been produced since 1953. It probably won’t become outdated anytime soon.
3. Hold Value Well
It’s simple to sell the shoes if you ever grow tired of the style, and you can still get a good amount of money for them.
For a used pair of shoes, a 1953 pair of horsebit loafers sells for around $300 on eBay.
4. Good Quality
Since I just assumed a fashion brand charged more for the name, I was a little taken aback by that. I had actually anticipated lower quality.
Having said that, you’ll still get a shoe that isn’t just cheap junk. Compared to the $120 Cole Haan loafers, it is undeniably of much higher quality.
Cons:
1. Cost
$670 is quite a bit of money for an off-the-rack shoe. Having said that, while it is true that the quality is good, the value isn’t quite there.
In my opinion, a shoe in this category ought to cost between $250 and $300. But because it is Gucci and an iconic original piece, you will pay for the brand name and all associated marketing.
2. Thin Sole
While some people prefer the soft design, others prefer something a little more robust, particularly a sole that will last a little bit longer. You must choose between those two options right now.

Are Gucci Loafers Comfortable?
Gucci loafers are a proof that when it comes to footwear craftsmanship, Gucci is still at the top of its game.
The shoes are not only exquisitely made, but also incredibly cozy.
They are thus a good option to take into consideration if you’re looking for a pair of timeless, fuss-free loafers that you can wear all day.
The uppers are a little snug when the loafers are new, so I can understand why someone with a wider foot might think about loosening them.
Just to be clear, they are not at all restricted or too tight. Here, I’m referring to cozy-snug. Still, if they feel a bit close-fitting at first, it is worth bearing in mind that the incredibly soft leather should take no time to give, it is really that stretchy.

Conclusion: Are Gucci Loafers Worth It
So in conclusion, are Gucci loafers worth it?
It varies, is the answer. If you want an iconic classic style item that’s like an Eames chair for example, or the Barcelona chair, then yes. For the originality of the design, you would need to pay more. All you can do is endure it.
On the other hand, if you’re interested in classic style, in good quality, and a good value ratio, I don’t think the shoe is worth it simply because you can get two pairs of shoes of similar or better quality for the same price.
The shoe is undoubtedly worth the money if you want a status symbol because it is easily recognizable and of decent quality. It has respectable quality. Just add a little more money. And with this shoe, you get the status if that’s what you want.
